At first, I felt a bit shy and didn't know how to start talking to them, but Xiao He was very warm and immediately grasped my hand, beginning to caress it. I held her hand, and together we grabbed the supplies and entered. Although we had never met before, we were like true friends.
Later, when we entered the room, Xiao Xi was playing the piano: Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu. His eyes were bright and I was thoroughly enjoying his music, just like himself. His music carried the pure joy of creation. I would say that is the meaning of music -- to touch people’s soul. To be honest, the piano wasn't very good - the sound wasn't very bright, the keys were a bit faded, and the pedal was broken. He was 27 years old, but he clung to the piano like a child who had found a precious treasure and wouldn't let go. When he finished a piece, I applauded enthusiastically, not only because I genuinely enjoyed the music but also because I clearly understood how satisfying it is for a musician to have a willing listener.
Their physical conditions (autism, epilepsy, intellectual challenges, speech impairment) don't define them. They're no different from ordinary children - they all love life, can be happy, angry, sad, and joyful.
Later, I also played Chopin, his favorite, for Xiao Xi. He excitedly asked me what piece it was, and I promised I would play more pieces of Chopin of him next year.
The director introduced me to each child -- their name, age, and their special skills. They were all a bit shy at first, not daring to look at me, but as I joined their dance (their daily dance show), they seemed to be more willing to talk and show more emotions. As I was about to leave, a little boy hugged me tightly. Every step I took, he would hug me again. I wonder if it was simply because he was excited to see someone his own age and wanted to make friends? Or perhaps just the need for a warm hug? But that doesn’t matter any more, what matters is two hearts that clung together closely and the pinky promise to meet next time.
Every person is a brilliant and unique diamond. Each event in life, each person we meet, every hardship and pain is like a polishing of that diamond. In the end, we all can become our most unique selves, shining with the brightest light.

The most unexpected thing was that each of the children had prepared a gift card for all the Hearts member who attended. I received a card from Little Deng, a first-grade girl, with a paper tulip attached to it. It was truly exquisite! I certainly couldn't have imagined making a three-dimensional tulip with just three small pieces of paper. Every child had put their heart into making these gifts. At that moment, I truly felt that the weight of this heartfelt intention surpassed any expensive gift.
Later, when we asked the children about their aspirations, one girl said she wanted to be a soldier. I was stunned at that moment - what a pure and powerful dream! I couldn't help but reflect on my own dreams: How long have I been forgetting to ask myself this question? Whether due to various pressures or temptations, I've slowly lost sight of what I want to do in the future. This casual notes is written 3 days after the event, and I thought about this question for the total 3 days. Now, after these heart-touching experience, I would say I want to be someone that is able to push the boundaries of human being and bring more smiles to the world.
